Tasha Pagdilao, a firefighter who helped battle the fire in Lahaina, said community members were a lot of the heroes when the blaze began to spread. Pagdilao also said her uncle who “pushed” her aunt to evacuate is among those still missing.
An extensive aeration process is underway in the soil of Lahaina’s historic banyan tree. The tree was badly burned in the fire that wiped out the town.
