1 hour agoBoth my parents are gone now but they were life long Republicans. When Donald Trump ran for President they could not believe that he won the Primaries and became the candidate for President. They both thought that he was an idiot and a con man. They voted against him in 2016. They both died before the 2020 election but both could not stand him until the day they died. I’m proud that even though they were Republicans they recognized that Trump was and idiot and not qualified to be President.Show less

1 hour agoI’m one of those folks as well. Voted republican from 1980 until 2016. Though I didn’t vote for him, I was hoping the GOP in Congress would stand against his craziness…It didn’t happen. Instead the GOP is now authoritarian and controlled by literal morons. I’m done with that party and vote Dem now…as it’s the ONLY party that stands for freedom.

1 hour agoI was a life long Republican. My entire family was Republican. Once I entered the cannabis business I realized right away that States rights mean nothing to the GOP. I became an independent and haven’t voted for a republican in over 10 years. I’ve also persuaded almost all of my family to stop voting for the GOP. I’ve cracked the code for breaking family from MAGA crazies.

She said she would never vote Republican again. She is now going to register as a Democrat. She has also said as a woman, she doesn’t know how any woman could vote Republican.

50 minutes agoBoth my parents were hard core Republicans . I grew up with never really interested in politics, till Trump. I know my mother hated Trump because he is a womanizer, and she would still march for women rights if she could. My father did teach me that never believe what the media says, always listen to the horses mouth. So, I do watch Meidas Touch, and listen to speeches from Trump, DeSantis and Biden. Trump has destroyed our country and now the Republicans want to go backwards to before 1960 and take away women’s rights etc. Being former military civil service employee for 14yrs, my late husband was retired Air Force, and it sickens me that thousands of our soldiers have fought and died, FOR NOTHING. Because apparently our FREEDOMS and RIGHTS are being stripped. I would not blame the military men and women of today to just not stay but get out. Why die for a FREEDOM that Republicans can just rip away?Read more

55 minutes agoI am a registered Republican. I do this because I live in a solid Republican county and the voter rolls are public information. So my neighbors think I’m with them. I vote for the lesser known candidates in the primary. But on election day, I always vote Democrat. I am the reason the vote totals never match the registered count. My contribution to the reality that things are never what they seem in the vote totals. The Red wave that didn’t appear in 2022? I was a part of that. My passive voter disobedience. It makes the Right angry without me having to say anything to the turd tossing gibbons.

Now, after living through this trumpian era, it’s a defining attribute that I use to evaluate a person’s character. If if I learn that someone I have met is a republican, I stay clear. It indicates to me that they were either ignorant, stupid or corrupt.

I started watching congressional committee and vote sessions. After I shared over and over and over what congressional Republicans were really saying, not the talking heads on the misinformation fox channel, he was disgusted. Then the orange bad man was voted in. I warned anyone who would listen to believe every accusation he accuses someone else of is an act he has done himself. 2020 my husband asked me to down ballet x out any politician that was a persistant trumplican minion. 41 minutes agoI am 65 now. I was a Registered Republican for most of my life. But when Newt Gingrich & company started undermining the process of Governing with nuclear partisan politics, it negated any chance for the success of ANY party governing this country. It was this willingness to undermine America just for the sake of pandering to the rich, openly having NO plan at all of how to make things better for every day Americans, THAT is what finally did it for me. At 50 years old, I became an Independent. After 15 years voting Independent now, I still don’t understand why enriching the rich at the expense of everyone else, is still such a desirable thing for everyday Americans. Why do they vote Republican and so willingly go against their own best interests?! I just don’t get it. I watched 50-60 years of this trickle down economic nonsense, be proven time after time that it does not to work for anyone but the rich,…because NOTHING EVER TRICKLESD DOWN!!! Its just simply baffling to me why ANYONE would vote Republican. It’s such a failed Philosophy.Read more

1 hour agoHappy Saturday, Ben! Thank you so very much for your dedication to truth and transparency. My Mom used to be a straight Republican. But when DT reverted the race, she was done. She didn’t like Hillary in 2016 (why is beyond me) so she voted for me as a write-in. I was really impressed. Unfortunately, half of my extended family are die hard Trumpers. It’s caused a HUGE problem in our family. The politics of the pandemic ended a lot of family love. So that’s really sad. But I’ve been a diehard liberal Democrat since I was a child. I was born into a big Irish American CATHOLIC extended family. And I was a Feminist at birth lol. Trust me, growing up in my family with my own views has caused lots of problems, but I live my politics. So, I hope my extended family sees the light soon.Read more

Since this was inconsistent with what I knew of my friend, I asked questions and learned he was incredibly politically uninformed. I educated him. He’s horrified that he ever voted Republican.
