7 hours ago (edited)It is absolutely true according to the corporate filings (Like proctor and gamell just this week- they raised price by 9% and their extra cost was half that====profiteering as they post RECORD PROFITS) they fully admitted that HALF of the price increase was pure profit on top of their normal profit margin— it IS CORPORATE GREED. He is RIGHT.

8 hours agoIt isn’t really inflation. Corporations are price gouging whenever they can get away with it and saying it’s because they are paying higher wages. CROCK! Who is getting higher wages?!?!?!! If people were getting higher wages, inflation wouldn’t have the impact it is on people financially. It is nothing but greedy corporations and they need to be held accountable. Period.

6 hours agoI’ll never forget the night I came home from a Macro economics class I was teaching when I first started out. It was maybe the 2nd class of the semester. I was in what I can only describe as a numb state. I remember walking into my home to my very newly married husband. He was visibly concerned asking me what was wrong. I sat, still in my wool coat with my briefcase in hand, almost unable to speak. My problem? I could not believe that I’d discovered most adults are dumb. I was brought up with the idea we respect our elders. Finding out that our elders are actually dumb was horrible. Shocking for me. That is our country. And these people are voting on shit they’ve no business o freaking clue about. It. Is. Depressing.Show less

7 hours agoYES BERNIE! How often in history have we suffered from economic woes AFTER a republican administration and because of the decisions made by that republican administration. Inflation doesn’t just occur overnight, the policies and changes made by the previous administration take years to impact our economies. This is a recurrent cycle and I wish CNN would do a story on it!

5 hours ago (edited)The not raising the minimum wage thing really blows my mind. The worst employers hang around creating poverty that taxpayers then pick up the bill for. It literally becomes more profitable to not work then to work hard. You don’t have to take my word for it either, people post videos all the time explaining their real options. This is something that would benefit everyone. Both sides of the isle and everything in between. Even teenagers are looking at $7.25/Hour and saying Nope!Read more

7 hours ago (edited)Unfortunately some of my co-workers are part of that group. I don’t know whether they’re hardcore GOP voters or they just didn’t do enough research. Either way, they need to understand this: how is the GOP gonna reduce inflation? I haven’t seen any actual solutions proposed, just them saying “vote for us because Democrats are to blame for this”

6 hours agoWell, he didn’t mention anything about the monetary supply which the Fed is basically ignoring. Of course, if the government had the stones to raise taxes on Americas wealthy (the people who own the place) they could start to borrow appropriately from the Fed and control inflation in a much less painful way.

5 hours agoThank you Bernie! It’s extremely important to keep the focus on the real problems that this country faces. Bernie should be President, it’s too bad we have so many that still stuck believing concepts that are pure fantasy at this point. At least Bernie has the necessary awareness to actually see what the problems are, and is willing to openly discuss those topics. Really the only times I ever heard Trump try to talk about the economy, it felt like a watching a grade schooler give his show-n-tell report. It’s nice to hear an actually intelligent, educated politician speak. Trump has been stumbling through sentences his entire life, he still has difficulty with words with more than two syllables.Read more

4 hours agoLet’s not forget the tariffs of August 2019 that was anticipated to bring on a recession as those tariffs were passed on to US consumers. That anticipated recession was pushed back by the global pandemic that was grossly mishandled by the previous administration. The obscene greed of the corporations profiting off the pandemic and the ongoing vulnerability of our economy.
