13 hours agoI live in Australia and I have been following the whole Despicable Trump story for several years I am saddened to say that I feel that I am watching a sinking ship No one in the media has ever broached the subject of what all the other crooks in your country must make of this .They must be lapping it up and laughing at how trump has broken your justice system One true patriot could solve this I wish you all the best

1:23the New York Criminal the New York civil

1:25investigation your potential criminal

1:27exposure repair you have criminal

1:28exposure in Georgia and then you have

1:31also all the Congressional

1:32investigations I mean it’s a it’s a hot

1:34mess as is everything that Donald Trump

1:37touches so here’s where I think Garland

1:39is Nicole I think that Garland is the

1:43guy who really doesn’t want to do this

1:45who doesn’t want to bring criminal

1:46prosecutions against a former president

1:49of the United States but I think he

1:52feels my gut is he feels he has to

1:56um just to take the classified

1:57information thing for one thing these

1:59are really serious crimes

2:01um with lots and lots of jail time how

2:04if you run the justice department do you

2:06look at the dozens and dozens of people

2:09you lock up every day for minor crimes

2:12and say oh yeah you’re going to jail six

2:14months a year five years ten years but

2:17this guy who did something far more

2:19serious now how do you look at the

2:21intelligence Community professionals who

2:23literally given their lives for some of

2:26this information and say oh don’t worry

2:29you know next time we’ll do better I

2:31mean how do you reassure our spies in

2:33the field some of them are undoubtedly

2:35working for foreign governments who

2:37right now are afraid oh my Intel reports

2:40are just left somewhere at Mar-A-Lago a

2:42place that you know every man every so

2:45every foreign spies agency is trying to

2:48penetrate

2:49um you know it then that’s just the

2:51January that’s not on January 6th so I

2:54think Garland starts there I think he

2:56starts with an indictment in Washington

2:58DC

2:59um and then from there about Mar-A-Lago

3:02and then I think we’ll get a pretty easy

3:04conviction I mean Michael pointed to the

3:06men’s Ray and Criminal Intent issues in

3:08the January 6th investigation I think

3:10they’re totally surmountable but at

3:11least it’s an issue with the classified

3:13information stuff everything so far he

3:19um that is at some levels reassuring and

3:23others I take your point that that

3:25Merrick Garland ever wanted to do this

3:26but I feel like we know so much about

3:28how badly Merrick Garland doesn’t want

3:30to do this and it doesn’t do anything

3:32for him with the 40 of Americans for

3:35whom he would benefit with that

3:36knowledge and I think what what other

3:38people fear is that we may be two years

3:41away from too late that we are going to

3:45have more election deniers in Secretary

3:47of State posts in attorney general pose

3:50potentially even in more senior posts

3:52maybe even a governor in Arizona of

3:54Kerry Lakewinds in November than we did

3:56two years ago and he almost pulled it

3:57off two years ago so I’m not saying that

4:00it should fall to the Department of

4:02Justice to be the only check on a

4:05criminal ex-president but he’s all we

4:08have it’s one of the two parties having

4:09broken bad and with the evidence of

4:13obstructing the criminal investigation

4:15to the documents is so brazenly

4:18publicized why not start by charging

4:21that

4:22yeah absolutely and I think I I I you

4:25know I’m someone who does think that

4:27Garland will do that and he’ll do it

4:28soon after the election again he doesn’t

4:31want to but I don’t think he’s got a

4:33choice there’s not a way to look the

6:18number of means available to it to make

6:28done and what he will do in the future

6:30but in terms of the selling of these

6:32secrets right now that’s something at

6:34least that doesn’t concern me Neil let

6:36me ask you about the other huge headline

6:38today a subpoena invoking the history of

6:41ex-presidents testifying before Congress

6:44Michael’s affirmed no but without

6:47respect or show up I think the showman

6:50in him and sort of the um the old tired

6:52Lounge act that’s desperate for a new a

6:55new crowd a new audience maybe tempted

6:57to comply but I know I remember from

6:59covering the Mueller investigation his

7:01lawyers will never let him sit before a

7:03body knowing he’ll perjure himself where

7:05do you come down on the history that the

7:07select committee made today by

7:08subpoenaing Donald Trump in a very

7:10specific list of documents that they

7:12also subpoenaed well Trump is not going

7:14to listen to his lawyers so that doesn’t

7:16that that doesn’t surprise me but um you

7:18know and yes he’s a showman so he’ll do

7:20all sorts of stuff on Fox or you know

7:22with his truth social you know screeds

7:24but I see no chance that he’s going to

7:27actually testify because as much as he’s

7:29a showman he also knows what part what

7:32perjury is and testifying under oath and

7:34we’re talking about a guy who took the

7:36Fifth Amendment more than 400 times in

7:40the New York investigation so do we

7:42think now he’s suddenly going to go

7:43ahead and and testify I really doubt it

7:46so Congress would be forced to basically

7:48compel his testimony that’s what’s

7:50happened in four other cases including

7:53Steve Bannon who noted Nicole was

7:55prosecuted and sentenced today for doing

7:58this for not for defying a congressional

8:00subpoena the house has once uh

8:04subpoenaed a former president uh former

8:07president uh Truman uh he refused and

8:10ultimately the Congress didn’t seek to

8:12enforce The subpoena so they do have

8:16some precedenting a congressional

8:50been done before either and I know as a

8:54student of your musings and writings um

8:56that you would argue that he has no idea

8:58of the history he just doesn’t care

9:00about anybody that might actually

9:02threaten him or hold him accountable

9:09what he’s told me he’s not someone who

9:11has any any knowledge of history but

11:12process again trying to hold himself out

11:14as a victim what about the Mar-A-Lago

11:16investigation does that stand a better

11:18chance of holding him accountable no

11:27then by that time his hope is that the

11:30house will flip to because I know he

11:32likes the word flipping it will flip to

11:34Republican and they will somehow work

11:37his magic be loyal to him and put an end

11:40to this entire thing you know the the

11:43Durham investigation which was his fever

11:46dream of an investigation into the

11:48investigators ended and ended with a

11:50whimper no convictions to acquittals one

11:54guilty plea but Trump thought it was

11:57going to take down the Mueller

11:59investigators you’ve warned that that

12:00would become The New Normal if you were

12:02to ever be near the Oval Office again

12:04explain and it and it will I mean there

12:06will be nothing that we know will

12:10continue to exist he will change the

12:13entire way that we live our lives here

12:15in America if he or a Donald Trump 2.0

12:18some act like that is loyal to him in

12:22the stupid way that I was loyal to him

13:19that that’s all he thinks about how he

13:21was going to use the presidency of the

13:23United States from you know McDonald’s

13:25as this bloviated Oompa Loompa all right

13:29now he may be stupid which he is he’s

13:32unread he’s unlearned

13:34but he’s also evil he’s evil to the

13:37point yes you describe him as dog yes

15:46I’d like to see open up the open up the

15:48um fracking open up oil exploration we

15:51have 360 billion Barrels in this country

15:54more than Russia and Saudi Arabia

15:56combined open it up let’s use that to

15:58pay off our deficit that’s what I would

16:00do but in the meantime I think Joe’s

16:02doing an excellent job there are things

15 hours agoI really do believe that if Garland makes an announcement on tv with all living former presidents behind him, with trumps cabinet behind him (those already speaking and those not). And whoever else might be able to ease the county’s pain and fear and outrage in some quarters. Dangerous quarters, but I believe there is a way to do this that could start the process of healing.

Garland will never do what is right for America. Garland will never protect our democracy. No more Social Studies classes for our children, what are they learning, nothing. Donald needs to be prosecuted in order for America to move forward.
