Are Republicans really in favor of Trump or just against Biden?
So, a necessary caveat here.
There are “Republicans,” and then there are “Republicans.”
As I’ve said a number of times, if you’re a small government conservative who likes originalist interpretation of the Constitution, supply-side economics, minimal regulation on free trade, small government, low taxes, limited immigration policy, prefer to see policy made at the state level rather than federal, defaults to the individual rights interpretation of the 2nd Amendment rather than the collective rights interpretation, we are going to disagree about a number of things, but we’ll do it over beers and the conversation will be lively, interesting, and aimed at understanding each other’s perspective rather than scoring points.
If your idea of “Conservative Policy” is “make Liberals cry,” “Michelle Obama is transgender,” “all Democrats are Communists,” “The most pressing problem facing the country right now is Hunter Biden’s Laptop,” “The President of the United States has a lever in his office to set Gas Prices,” “The 2nd Amendment is there to let us take up arms against the properly elected government because we disagree with the current administration,” “the deep state etc, etc, etc” “ Wokeism, CRT, cancel culture, SJW, TDS – Insert latest Tucker Carlson Show buzzword here…” Then yeah. I can think of a few more interesting ways to spend my afternoon listening to you parrot the latest 4-Chan meme.
The first type of Conservative, the type of Conservative I grew up with, doesn’t particularly like Biden, can articulate why form a point by point policy perspective, may have held their nose and voted for Trump but is also genuinely concerned about the direction the Republican Party has been going in the last few years. That kind of Conservative, yes, if they voted for Trump most likely did so because he wasn’t a Democrat, and perhaps yes, you can count that as an “against Biden” vote.
But by and large, that is quickly becoming the minority in the Republican Party, and the second type…
No. Look, yes, now that Biden is President, they hate him with the seething passion of 1000 suns, but it’s nothing compared to their unholy, inexplicable LOVE for Donald Trump. And THAT is what the rest of us …
JUST. WILL. NEVER. GET.
Look… THIS is what they think of him.

This is who they think this guy is:
Look at these people. NO, they’re not cheering against Biden.
NO, they didn’t vote “against Biden.” They absolutely voted “for Trump.”
Look at the questions they ask. They ask questions as if our problem with him is that he says “mean things on Twitter,” but “we should appreciate his policies,” Rather than, “this was an abhorrent, unqualified, self-serving troglodyte who bullshitted his way through 4 years of the most important job on Earth, responded to the biggest crisis of his presidency by purposefully sowing discord and pretending it was all a mean liberal trick to make him look bad, and who seemed to delight in taking the most abhorrent position possible on every policy you asked him about.”
They think it’s patriotic to love him. They do. It’s BAT SHIT insane, but they honestly think that’s to love Trump is to love America, and vice versa. And no, the rest of us will never get it, just like we will never get how such a large percentage of our population can be just so goddamn gullible.
But there you have it. Since the question says “Republicans,” you have to account for the reasonable, sane Republicans who actually do exist, despite the DRIPPING irony of the rest of the party calling THEM the RINOs. The majority of the party, though, as you can see from how they vote in the primaries?
Dear GOD no. They would run Jesus Christ himself out of town if he said a single cross word about Donald Trump.
They’re against Biden because even if they won’t admit it to themselves, Biden beat their hero. THATs why they hate him, It has nothing to do with Biden’t policy positions (Which they can’t name) or the state of the economy, which they somehow imagine would be different with a different President in office. In truth, Biden himself has nothing to do with it. It’s all about how much they love that puckered orange asshat.
Boggles the mind, man, but it’s true.

Why is Donald Trump considered a traitor by some Americans?
You misspelled ALL.
Trump supporters are not Americans.

Do you think Donald Trump will ‘turn on everybody’ if he is indicted according to Mary Trump?
When Trump was a child, his father a real estate guy, gave him everything, including $80 million in cash and inheritance. Excellent start and also a mantra, never give in, never admit you are wrong and buy off anyone or bully them into submission.
Mary Trump is a lovely lady, but she is not saying anything that everyone in the US and most of the world already knows, Donald Trump has turned on everybody at one time or another and has always gotten away with it.
Who else could lie to his supporters after every single Republican witness has recounted chapter and verse how Trump knew he had lost the 2020 election. How he systematically got rid of everyone around him, how he was in agreement to ‘hang Mike Pence’ as his supporters chanted as they tried to hunt Pence down after they broke into the US capitol at Trump’s behest.
There is no one in US history like Trump. Why? Because no one was able to lie every single moment of their life and never get told no before Trump. He is like Caligula or any other emperor who eventually met his demise.
This story is not yet over. The US system has protected Trump; the US courts have allowed him to run free. SCOTUS is set to rewrite and accepts laws that will allow ‘fake’ electors to be legal next time.
Trump is cancer on the US and on humanity. The world will be way better off when he is no longer a part of US politics. Let him go to jail which is where he belongs or back on tv to sell steaks or real estate; let him do anything other than what he has been doing for the past 7 years, destroy America.
