I don’t think I’ve ever seen numbers as high as they are right now. Usually, every ICU patient has a different diagnosis — but for the last two years, nearly every ICU patient has had a diagnosis of COVID. The most frustrating thing is when we are with patients and their family members in their most vulnerable state in the ICU, struggling to breathe, and they say, “I should have gotten vaccinated.”All of us have to be on the same page.
If you have questions because you read something somewhere that was negative about the vaccine, talk to your healthcare provider. The vaccine is very effective. It’s very safe. Everyone in my family has been vaccinated and has had their boosters: my wife, my three brothers, their wives, their children, and my mother and father. My children, who are 6 and 8 years old, recently got their second shot. I wouldn’t recommend it to you if I wouldn’t also recommend it to my own family. Do yourself and those around you a favor — please, get vaccinated.#FirsthandFacts
