COVID Blood Types | Are they associated with severe illness?

People have asked me many questions about COVID blood types. People want to know if certain blood types are associated with their likelihood of acquiring the COVID virus as well as if certain blood types make you more likely to get hospitalized or end up in the ICU with a life-threatening COVID infection. An early report from China suggested that blood type A was associated with increased susceptibility and blood type O was associated with reduced susceptibility to coronavirus infections. Not all studies have shown this and so I report on a large study done in the USA looking at the relationship of COVID and blood types.
