This composite image reflects the surreal claim amplified by Donald Trump that President Joe Biden was “executed in 2020” and replaced by robotic or cloned doubles. The torn juxtaposition of two Biden portraits—one soft and human, the other intense and uncanny—symbolizes how disinformation blurs the line between reality and conspiracy in today’s political landscape. The visual encapsulates how conspiracy theories mutate perception, fueling fear and eroding public trust.
Is It Time to Commit Trump — or Admit He’s Lost Touch with Reality?

Donald Trump just reposted a conspiracy theory so absurd, so surreal, it would make The Onion blush: the claim that President Joe Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced with a robotic clone. No, this isn’t satire. Trump shared this on Truth Social, amplifying a post that claims Biden is now a “soulless mindless entity” operated by the Deep State.
At what point do we stop calling this “strategy” and start calling it psychosis?
For years, Trump has weaponized conspiracy theories to rally his base. From birtherism to election fraud, from suggesting bleach cures COVID to claiming Haitian immigrants eat pets, Trump’s brand has become synonymous with paranoia and delusion. But this latest theory—implying the Commander-in-Chief is a literal robot—is the rhetorical equivalent of wandering Times Square in a bathrobe and tinfoil hat, yelling at pigeons.
And yet, millions cheer him on.
The Danger of Mainstreamed Madness
It’s tempting to laugh. To dismiss this as one more unhinged post from a man unraveling. But Trump’s fringe ideas are no longer fringe. He’s dragging the mainstream right down the rabbit hole. When a former president and leading candidate for 2024 shares something this deranged, it validates insanity. It empowers people who live in alternate realities. It emboldens state lawmakers to act on delusions, like Louisiana’s bizarre attempt to ban chemtrails.
Let’s be blunt: this isn’t just eccentricity. This is dangerous disinformation. And it’s being weaponized by someone who wants the nuclear codes back.
A History of Delusional Thinking
Trump’s flirtation with fantasy is long-established. He’s:
- Claimed Obama wasn’t born in the U.S.
- Said the attack on Paul Pelosi was staged.
- Pushed the lie that Biden won via a “military coup.”
- Encouraged QAnon theories about Satan-worshipping pedophiles.
- Now, claims Biden’s eye color changed, and that he’s a clone.
This is not “playing to the base.” This is playing with reality itself. And it’s shredding what’s left of public trust in democracy.
The Real Question: Unfit or Dangerous?
We’ve long debated Trump’s moral fitness. Now we must question his mental fitness. Psychiatrists once cautioned against diagnosing public figures from a distance. But when a man reposts theories about robot clones running the country, the question is no longer taboo.
We must ask:
- Is he mentally deteriorating?
- Is this strategic disinformation for manipulation and distraction?
- Or does Trump believe this nonsense?
None of the answers bode well for the future.

Conclusion: From Conspiracy to Commitment?
At this point, we don’t need to argue policy. We need to question reality itself. When a man leading one of America’s two major political parties pushes theories that belong in a sci-fi cult, we’ve gone beyond politics. We’ve crossed into collective delusion.
If a private citizen walked into a hospital claiming the president was a clone, they’d likely be placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold. But Trump? He gets standing ovations and Secret Service protection.
Maybe it’s time we asked the question plainly:
Is it time to put Trump in the nut house?
Or more critically:
Is it time to stop enabling mass delusion and hold leaders accountable for spreading it?
